Universal Preschool Program opens in December for Fall 2026!
The Colorado Universal Preschool Program opens for Fall 2026 enrollment in December. We are excited to have your 4-year-old join us! Contact us to schedule a tour and get your questions answered so that you can enroll and get your spot reserved.

Winter Break Camp is open for enrollment!
We are now enrolling for winter break camp for kids ages 3-12. Winter break is from December 22 to January 6th. We will be open 6:30 am -6:00 pm and closed for Christmas and New Year’s Day. We will close at 3 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. We have room in both the school-age and preschool programs. Contact us to pick your days!

Summer Camp 2026 Enrollment begins in Feburary!
It’s never too soon to start planning for our Summer Camp 2026! Both the Preschool Summer Adventure Camp and the School Age Summer Camp will begin enrolling in February! Contact us to enroll and start the process! It’s going to be a great summer!

Before and After Care
With a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, imaginative play and physical activities, our staff will engage with your children.

Summer Camp
We offer a fun action-packed summer of amazing activities, field trips and memories your children will cherish. Our staff is ready to make this an amazing experience. We are currently busy planning for another amazing summer camp for 2026 for our Preschool Adventure Summer Camp and our School Age Summer Camp.

Introducing the Intergenerational Volunteer Program!
This fall Small Characters launched its newest program- an intergenerational volunteer program. It unites retired members of our community with our preschoolers. Our volunteers spend time reading to the children, playing games and having fun with them. Our goal is to bridge the gap between the generations. This is just one of the many ways Small Characters is an integral part of the Lakewood community! Small Characters is now going through the Colorado Shines Quality Rating and Improvement Program!
The Colorado Shines Quality Rating and Improvement Program is a system that works with all licensed childcare facilities in the state of Colorado to help improve the overall quality of care provided to kids ages birth through 5. Centers can choose to go through this very rigorous process. Small Characters started this process in August 2024. We are very excited to be a part of Colorado Shines!
